Tess Melby

I joined the Animal Adventure team in 2015 where I started as a Product Development Specialist focused on our pet business with Target’s Boots & Barkley brand. After 7 years with the company, I am now the Director of Product Development. I work closely with our marketing, design, and merchandise planning teams to drive our internal product line development. The department works together to manage the company timing and action to create transparency and efficiency across all teams. I also support custom development requests for our Target business-which is both owned brand and national brand product. The fast-paced nature of the business keeps me very busy and there are always new challenges and exciting projects to tackle in order to bring the best possible product to market!

Personal Facts: I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Family Social Science. I had every intention to become a Marriage & Family Therapist but completely changed my mind during my second semester senior year-great timing! I found myself in retail (following in my dad’s footsteps) when I began working at Target Corporate and eventually found my way to Animal Adventure. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and dog as well as checking out new restaurants around the Twin Cities!
